It's Friday! And I have much to write about, but I have little time today to do so. So I'm making it a random blog entry day, where I throw in a little bit of this 'n that. One thing on my mind today: Shopping! It was to be a day for us to go into Germany to do some shopping. However, my husband remembered 3 October is German Unity Day! Therefore, the shops in Germany will probably be closed[?]. . . I am not sure of this, but we aren't going to take our chances, driving all the distance to find out the hard way most or all of the shops we needed to visit would be closed.
Shopping in Europe. If you are new to the continent and have been used to searching for clothing or shoe sizes in U.S. measurements, like myself, I want to share with you a few good website links to help convert your clothing and shoe measurements:
- Online Conversion: Clothing and shoe sizes. Including links for men and also ring sizes.
- International dress & bra size converter/calculator.
On this shopping topic: Shopping in Germany. I have learned a little bit of the German language from shopping in Deutschland. Situation: You are standing at the cash register. They tell you the total and you are paying with cash. Here is what you can try saying while doing the following actions:

This link will help you with Dutch pronounciation of the Dutch alphabet. This link will help you with German pronounciation of the German alphabet.
It's random, I know. . .

Yes, shops are closed today in Germany. :)
Random is good. My whole blog is a random mash of randomness ;) I love your cow graphic, it makes me laugh so hard everytime I see it.
It's a great holiday in Germany, so I have no problem with it ;-) And it is bona fide: the shops are closed. The roads out here near my in-laws are full of cars with German license plates, doing their shopping ;-) I was looking forward to the fun shopping experiences I always have in Germany, so next week on Friday we're going instead.
Thanks Mub! I agree. Random is good ;-) My husband loves the cow too.. He's always suggesting something new for it, but I try to keep the cow like a guest star of the show. Randomly added!
Wish I had came across this post when I first stepped inside a store here. Man was it a hassle. Either some of the shops didnt have fitting rooms or conversion charts and I was in dire need of some new threads. Luckily, some of the tags had euro and us numbers displayed.
I love random posts!
And yep, everything was closed in Germany yesterday. I think the entire population of Aachen was shopping at the Ikea in Heerlen, myself included. :D
Decora & Achtung!, thanks for your comments! My laptop is back in running order & I didn't have a chance to respond to your comments earlier. ;-)
